UnorthodoxAmbassador (born April 20, 1986) also known by their initials UA, is an American politician, academic and activist. Ambassador is a founder of and was the first chair of the contemporary Green Party. They served as the U.S. Representative for Fremont's 4th congressional district from January of 2021 until September 2021, when they were appointed to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services by President Adithyansoccer.
Early life, education and private career
Unorthodox Ambassador was born in Kapaa, Hawaii on April 20, 1986. In 2004 Ambassador graduated from Kapaa High School and received a full ride to the University of Auckland where they studied Politics and Computer Science. Following their graduation they moved back to Hawaii and worked in communications at the ACLU. In 2009 Ambassador was laid off as a result of the ongoing great recession and subsequently chose to pursue a masters in politics at the University of Hawai'i Mānoa. During their masters Ambassador spent much of their time conducting graduate research with a visiting law professor from the University of California Berkeley. This would ultimately lead to Ambassador's pursuit of law, graduating from the UC Berkeley School of Law in 2016.
Green Party USA
Ambassador drew national recognition when they along with their colleague Parado-I left the Democratic Party in a bid to promote the Green Party as an electorally viable third party in the United States. In the May 2021 United States elections Ambassador was among the first members of the Green Party to be formally elected to Congress.
U.S. House of Representatives
Ambassador spent their Congressional tenure as the Chair of the United States House Committee on Armed Services and Foreign Affairs. Through this position they advocated for the expansion of Congress' purview in United States foreign affairs. Chief among these efforts was Ambassador's attempts to circumvent the Executive Branch in recognizing the State of Palestine and the repeal of sanctions on Cuba and Venezuela.
Secretary of Health and Human Services
Prior to the canon reset Ambassador was a member of and a Party Secretary of the Socialist Party. They served as the Attorney General of Atlantic Commonwealth under Governor Mika3740. As Attorney General Ambassador drew praise for successfully defending the states strict gun control measures as well as implementing executive orders which protected LGBTQIA+ people. Following Ambassador's tenure as Atlantic Attorney General they would be elected to and elected Speaker of the Atlantic Commonwealth State Assembly. In December 2019 Ambassador would become Governor of the Atlantic Commonwealth after the resignation of both former Governor Parado-I and former Lieutenant Governor PGF-3. During their time as Governor of the Atlantic Commonwealth Ambassador successfully wrote and passed 'The Commonhealth Act' which was the United States' first single payer health insurance scheme in addition to the 'Universal University and Student Debt Cancelation Act' and the 'Atlantic Green New Deal.'
