The Standing Rules of the United States Senate states that the Senate Committee on Commerce, Finance, Labor, and Pensions "shall have jurisdiction over measures relating to the following: appropriations and budgeting, revenue and government finance, banking, the currency, labor, interstate commerce, trade, pensions and Social Security, social welfare, small businesses, and education."
