The January 2021 United States presidential election was the 59th quadrennial presidential election, held on Friday, January 22nd, 2021. The Republican ticket of incumbent President NinjjaDragon of Chesapeake and his running mate Dixie Assembly speaker SELDOM237 defeated the Democratic ticket of Senate Majority Leader Darthholo of the Atlantic Commonwealth and Senator polkadot48 of Chesapeake.

In the June 2020 United States Presidential Election, incumbent Republican Gunnz011 lost to former Sierra Governor ZeroOverZero101, alongside a Democratic wave in the House and the Senate, giving Zero a trifecta. Shortly after the election, to replace his nominee for Secretary of State from the Supreme Court, he nominated his Vice President Dewey Cheatem. He replaced him with the Speaker of the House NinjjaDragon, and he shortly resigned on August 13th. making Ninjja the 50th President of the United States, and subsequently replaced himself as Vice President with TopProspect17. Throughout the term before the midterm elections, the Democratic Party passed major reforms, including to worker's rights, environment, and healthcare.
In the midterms, the Democrats lost seats in the Senate (as well as eventually the majority after the defection of Adithyansoccer), however, retained the House. The term was quiet, with no major bills being passed.
Due to a fallout with Democratic leadership, Ninjja defected to the Republican Party. This period also saw Vice President TopProspect get kicked out of the Party for planning to create the Lincoln nationalist party Forward!

The Democratic Primary was mainly a race between Sierra Governor and former Vice President HurricaneOfLies, the nominee in November 2019, and Senate Majority Leader Darthholo. The campaign was mostly quiet, however, in December 2020 Hurricane dropped out, Darthholo became the nominee.

The Republican Party never truly had a primary event, however after NinjjaDragon's defection to the Republicans, he became the nominee.
Civics People's[edit | edit source]
The Civics were mainly preparing for a run, with former President Gunnz011, who lost re-election in June, as well as Senator Zurikurta. Neither of these candidates moved into the general elections, with the Civics endorsing the Republicans instead for the presidency, in return for control of the Congressional delegations
