ItsZippy23 is an American politician serving as the Representative for Atlantic's 1st congressional district as well as the House Majority Leader since 2021. A Democrat, he represents the region of New England.

Zippy is the second highest Democrat in the house, only behind Brihimia, the Speaker of the House.

Zippy is also a Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee, serving under Chair GoogMastr.

Early Life, Education, and Career

Zippy was born on August 23rd, 1974 in Hartford, Connecticut and grew up Durham, Connecticut and graduated from Coginchaug Regional High School. He graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Political Science and Journalism. Zippy worked as a political reported for the New York Times before joining congress.

House of Representatives and Majority Leader (2021-present)

Zippy was elected in January 2021 to Atlantic's 1st congressional district, winning with 49% of the vote.

Zippy was elected to become the Majority Leader of the House, winning an internal vote and then defeating blockdenied on a floor vote. Speaking on the house floor after the election, he said that "the American people need selfless governance now more than ever."[1]

Zippy was a manager in the Second Impeachment of Donald Trump.

Foreign Affairs

On January 31st, 2021, Zippy wrote a letter alongside 9 of his congressional Democratic colleagues asking President Ninjjadragon to revoke the decision to leave the World Health Organization[2]. The letter was met with swift rebuke from President Ninjja, stating the Administration would continue the withdraw from the WHO.

Gun Control

Zippy introduced the Universal Background Check Act on February 14th, 2021, the third anniversary of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.

Voting Rights

Zippy introduced the Electoral Reform and Voting Rights Act of 2021. In a statement, Zippy said that, "Protecting and preserving our democracy is important and vital to our society. Our government needs to work on passing reforms to make sure all people have the right to vote and for our democracy to work for everyone and all."[3]

Personal Life

Zippy is married to Kiley Miner since 2009 and they have two kids, Evan and Morgan. He is a reform Jew. He is a fan of the New York Mets.[4]

Non-Canon

Zippy joined political life as a list member of the House in 2019. He resigned in middle February 2020 to take a seat in the Atlantic Assembly, where he became minority leader. He soon returned to the house, and was elected in the June 2020 United States House of Representatives election as Representative for AC-3,with the largest margin in any race of that election. He was appointed chair of the House Oversight committee. During that term. he introduced the America Moves Forward Act, an act which was signed into law by acting-President TopProspect17 in September 2019. He unsuccessfully ran for Senate in September 2020 against then-House Minority Leader Gunnz011. He returned to the House and became Majority Leader under skiboy625, and then Nazbol909. Zippy was long suited as a gubernatorial candidate in the November 2020 Atlantic gubernatorial election to challenge incumbent Governor MyHouseIsOnFire, as one of the few Democrats who could potentially beat Fire. He lost with 46% of the vote. Zippy served as the state chair of the Atlantic Democrats from May 2020 until December 2020, when he was elected as a Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee.
