Cry Defiance is an American politician serving as Assemblyman from Dixie's 1st District since January 2021. In March 2021, Defiance was the Civics Party nominee for Governor of Dixie, losing to Democrat Tripplyons18 in the general election.
Early Life and Career
Cry Defiance was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Bry and Elizabeth Defiance.
In January of 2021, the state of Dixie was formed and Defiance was elected to the state's General Assembly, representing the 1st District. During his first term, Defiance supported fellow Civic Assemblymember JacobInAustin for Speaker of the Assembly, and generally caucused with the Democrats.
2021 Dixie gubernatorial election
In February of 2021, Defiance announced his intentions to run for Governor of Dixie. As the only declared candidate from the Civics Labor Party, Defiance was automatically the party's presumptive nominee. In March, he was defeated by Democrat Tripplyons18 in the general election.

Following the election of incumbent Lt. Governor JohnGRobertsJr to the U.S. Senate, Governor Tripplyons18 nominated Defiance to fill the office of Lieutenant Governor. Defiance was confirmed by the Dixie Assembly and sworn into office on September 15, 2021.
In his first directive as Lt. Governor, Defiance ordered an audit of Dixie's election systems in part as a response to technical difficulties experienced during the August 2021 federal elections.
Defiance is a fan of the children's book series Paddington.
