Atlantic (/ætˈlæn.tɪk/), officially the Atlantic Commonwealth, is a state located in the Northeastern region of the United States. While it is the fourth largest state in population, it remains the smallest in land mass. It contains the highest point east of the Mississippi River, Mount Washington. It is bordered to the North by Canada, the east to the Atlantic Ocean, and to the south and the west to the state of Greater Appalachia.
Atlantic is most known for its historical impact during the American Revolution, though it is also known for its major cities and industries, which include information technology, insurance, and finance. New York City is the largest city in the State (as well as the nation), with other major cities including Philadelphia, Boston, and Pittsburgh. The capitol city is Albany
Before the arrival of European settlers, Atlantic was home to a large number of Native American groups. Europeans first arrived on the Mayflower, and soon settled throughout the region. During the Seven Year's War, parts of the Northern Atlantic Commonwealth were battle sites between the French and the English. During the American Revolution, the Atlantic Commonwealth was the epicenter of the conflict. All nine states which make up the Atlantic Commonwealth were signers of the Declaration of Independence, and took place to important sites such as the colonies' capitol (Philadelphia) and major battles, including Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, New York, Saratoga and the Crossing of the Delaware. The Constitution of the United States was drafted in Philadelphia, which all nine states ratified. Major economic advances during the 1800s were done in Atlantic, most notably the textile mills in Lowell. All nine states were loyal to the Union during the civil war, with only one major battle occurring in the Commonwealth, the Battle of Gettysburg. The nine states that now comprise Atlantic were then amalgamated on January 20, 2021 to form the Atlantic Commonwealth.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Atlantic is named after the Atlantic Ocean, one of the world's four oceans. All of the Atlantic Commonwealth (besides Pennsylvania) border the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean contributes to the economy of the commonwealth due to its ability for fishing, trade, and tourism.

From 2018, the Northeastern State had the same borders as the contemporary Atlantic Commonwealth, which was officially known as the Atlantic Commonwealth. The state was governed by the Constitution of New York until 2019, when an Atlantic State Constitution was enacted by the Assembly. The capital of Atlantic was mainly Albany, while in 2020 the executive moved to Trenton.
Atlantic was politically known as a stronghold for the Socialist Party, with the Republicans as a close second. The first governor was trover2301 of the Democratic Party and the last one being _MyHouseIsOnFire_ of the Civics People's Party. In presidential elections, the state voted for Democratic candidates in all elections besides when Gunnz011 (a former and future Senator from Atlantic) was on the ballot in November 2019 and June 2020.
Current canon (2021-)[edit | edit source]
Atlantic adopted its present constitution on February 23, 2021.
