The 117th United States Congress is the current meeting of the legislative branch of the United States federal government, composed of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives. It convened in Washington, D.C., on January 23, 2021, at the beginning of the Presidency of NinjjaDragon.
The 2021 elections decided control of both chambers. In the House of Representatives, the Democratic Party retained their majority.
In the Senate, the Republican Party won a full majority in the chamber, although due to a break in a coalition agreement and the failed creation of the Libertarian Party, a split senate occurred.
With Vice President SELDOM237 serving as the tie breaker in her constitutional role as Senate President, Republicans have control of the Senate.
