Ultimately, the people of the Atlantic Commonwealth chose former President Gunnz011 to serve as their next senator by a narrow margin of 2.02%, winning 348,255 more votes than ItsZippy23.
Former Republican Vice Presidential nominee Polkadot48, who switched to the Democratic Party, was chosen as the replacement for Democratic Senator Tucklet1911, who vacated her seat early in the term. Polkadot48 was seen as the clear front-runner of this race, garnering high levels of support in most public opinion polls. The Republicans nominated Melp8836, a staple of Chesapeake politics, who had most recently lost to now-Governor Cdocwra by 14,000 votes. Though the race for Chesapeake's Class II seat started off as uncompetitive, Melp8836 was able to outperform expectations and forced Polkadot48 to play on the defensive. Ultimately, Melp8836 lost the race by 6 points and 1,083,736 votes.
Republican Senator Seldom237 was appointed to this seat by Governor _MrWhiteyIsAwesome_ after the retirement of former Democratic Senator PresentSale. Though this was a hard fought campaign, Senator Seldom237 lost her seat to newcomer Democrat Adithyansoccer. Adith won with a margin of 10%, and by 2,089,839 votes. Senator Adithyansoccer would later defect to the Republican seat, effectively rendering this contest as a Republican Hold.
Democrat Tripplyons18 was appointed to this seat after the retirement of Democrat Banana_Republic_. Recently, Tripplyons18 had attempted to run for the Governor's office of Dixie in the previous state elections, but fell short. The Civics People's Party fielded JacobInAustin. Tripplyons18 led in every poll leading up to the race, and won by a margin of 27.16%, or 5,675,212 votes.
DDYT is the longest serving senator currently in the chamber - having been elected in the 118th congress and holding his seat since. DDYT was no stranger to close contests - Democrats have been trying to win his seat ever since he first won, but they have come up short each time. Democrats hoped that by fielding then-Lincoln Speaker Madk3p, DDYT would finally be ousted. The campaign was hard fought between both candidates, with many on both sides believing this race was sure to be too close to call. Ultimately, Republican DDYT triumphed over his opponent yet again, winning by a narrow margin of .72%, or 130,334 votes.
Cubascastrodistrict was appointed by Sierra Governor Hurricaneoflies to fill the seat vacated by Democratic Senator APG_Revival. The Civics fielded former Governor and Senator Zurikurta, with the support of the Republican party. Though Cuba led every poll before the election, and was widely believed to have this race on lock, he didn't show up to a key debate between he and his opponent, which many believe cost him the election. Ultimately, Cubascastrodistrict lost re-election by a slim margin of less than 1%, or 190,478 votes.
